Professor David Hall Appointed to Legal Services Board
Professor David Hall has been appointed by President Bush to the board of directors of the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), a private, nonprofit corporation established by Congress to ensure equal access to justice under the law for all Americans by providing civil legal assistance to those who otherwise would be unable to afford it. LSC is headed by an 11-member board of directors; by law, the board is bipartisan: no more than six members may be of the same political party.
A former dean of the School of Law and provost of the university, Hall returns to the law school faculty in fall 2003. He has focused on equal justice and the ethical responsibilities of lawyers throughout his career. An eloquent orator and author, Hall lectures nationally and writes on issues of race and American law, holistic lawyering and education, and social justice.
