Dockser Hall is...

Green, Wired and Open for Learning

Photographs by David Leifer

Four state-of-the art, tiered, sun-filled classrooms dominate Dockser's second floor.

Northeastern University School of Law celebrates the opening of our new Dockser Hall, including a state-of-the-art moot courtroom, classrooms, seminar rooms, offices and lounge areas, as well as ample space for thelaw school's clinical program. The building will also meet the silver level of the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System.

Almost $20 million was spent renovating Dockser Hall, adjacent to the law school's Knowles Center.

The clinical program's suite includes a reception area, interview rooms, faculty offices, workstations for students and a library.

Full Circle

Bill Dockser choked up a bit as he spoke at the rededication of Dockser Hall in October 2008. Forty years before, almost to the day, his father, Charles Dockser '32, proudly attended the dedication of Dockser Hall, named in honor of Charles and his wife, Estelle, who provided the generous gift for the building that would serve as home to Northeastern University's Bouvé College for the next four decades.

Charles, a banker and philanthropist, was a loyal law school graduate who, said his son, would have been overjoyed at the idea of Dockser Hall's new use as a law school building.

Bill Dockser spoke on behalf of his siblings,
who also attended the dedication.

The moot courtroom and common lounge provide students with the latest in technology and comfort. Dockser's atrium-style entrance welcomes students and faculty.
