Professor Hackney teaches in the areas of torts, corporate finance, corporations, critical race theory, and law and economics. Prior to joining the Northeastern faculty, Professor Hackney was an associate with the Los Angeles law firm of Irell & Manella. He was book review and comment editor of the Yale Law Journal during law school. His research focuses on intellectual history, torts, the mutual fund industry, law and economics, and critical race theory. He is the author of the acclaimed book, Under Cover of Science: American Legal-Economic Theory and the Quest for Objectivity (Duke University Press, 2007).
