The Office of Computer Services maintains an array of audio/visual resources for use by the School of Law community.
Classrooms with Built-In Technology
The following classrooms have built-in A/V technology:
- 97 Cargill
- 94 Cargill
- 202 Knowles
- 203 Knowles
- 204 Knowles
Each of these classrooms has the following equipment:
- Computer with internet access and NUnet applications installed
- Playback VCR for playing VHS tapes
- Record VCR for taping classes
- DVD player
- Connection for laptop hookup
- ELMO document camera
- A/V setup including LCD projector, audio controls, and pull-down screen
This equipment is already located in the classrooms and is ready to use at any time. No reservations are required. However, you may need to contact the Office of Academic and Student Affairs to reserve the room if you have not done so already.
Instructions for using the equipment are posted in each classroom. If you need help setting up, or would like a demonstration of how the equipment works, please contact us to make an appointment. In addition, there is a phone in each of these classrooms that you can use to contact Computer Services if immediate assistance is required.
Other Rooms with Built-In Technology
The Brown Lounge (71 Cargill) contains an A/V setup including LCD projector, audio controls, and a pull-down screen. There is a playback VCR and a DVD player. There is a connection for laptop or ELMO document camera hookup.
105 Shillman is maintained by Northeastern's IS department, not by the law school. It contains an A/V setup including LCD projector, audio controls, and a pull-down screen. There is a computer with internet access and NUnet applications installed. There is a playback VCR and a DVD player. For A/V assistance in 105 Shillman, please contact Northeastern's Help Desk at x4357.
404 Knowles is a study room in the library with a built-in TV and VCR.
Portable equipment
For the other classrooms and meeting rooms, the following portable equipment is available for sign out:

- 2 portable LCD projectors
- 2 portable projection screens
- portable amplifier with microphone
- audiocassette recorder
- 5 laptops

This equipment is stored in the library, with the exception of one overhead projector located in the Moot Courtroom (10 Cargill). To make a reservation, call Computer Services at x8919. To make the reservation process go smoothly, please give as much notice as possible. To pick up or return equipment, find a full-time Computer Services staff member in 324/325 Knowles, or ask for a full-time library staff member at the circulation desk.
Due to the cost and nature of the equipment, we cannot allow equipment to be used outside of the Knowles/Cargill buildings.
