Graduates of Northeastern have a
long history of supporting their alma mater. After the School of
Law closed in 1956, loyal graduates prevailed upon the university to re-establish
NUSL. By 1961, tireless graduates agreed to raise $1 million in support
of the new law school, their success culminating in the School of Law's
reopening in 1968.
The support of our alumni/ae and
friends provides critical resources for the School of Law's operating budget
and program areas. Current priorities include securing resources
for the library, Loan Deferral and Forgiveness Program and our new Public
Interest Scholars Program. Unrestricted support of the Annual Fund
is always a priority as well since it allows Dean Emily Spieler to offset
and enhance the needs within our operating budget that support all areas
of the law school.
There are several different ways
that you can make a gift to NUSL, from essential Annual Fund contributions
to significant capital and planned gifts. These gifts can be unrestricted,
or restricted to a specific purpose, made as expendable gifts or gifts
that create endowed funds (income only is used), or made in the form of
a bequest in your will or estate plans. Please review the options
below for the way that best works for you to support the School of Law.
